Questions we get asked

Shipping container FAQs, answered straight.

If your question is not here, send it through the contact form. We would rather answer it before you order than after.

Where an answer turns on a standard we link the source: dimensions come from ISO 668 and owner codes from the BIC registry. These shipping container FAQs cover the questions that decide a purchase.

Shipping container FAQs: modified shipping containers with cut openings and cladding

Three ranges. Standard shipping containers for storage, stock, equipment and general commercial use. Office shipping containers set up as ready-to-use workspace. And modified containers, customised for offices, workshops, retail applications, specialist facilities and other project requirements.

Tell us what the container is for rather than which model you think you want. Storage on a secure yard, a site office for six people, a workshop with power and light, and a retail unit are four different specifications. Send the use case through the quote form and we will point you at the range that fits.

Send a quotation request with the use case, roughly how many containers you need and where they are going. We come back with a written quotation covering specification and delivery. We do not publish fixed prices because the right figure depends on specification, quantity and destination.

An office container is a workspace-ready unit intended to be used largely as supplied. A modified container starts from a shipping container and is changed to suit a specific job — different door and window positions, internal partitions, a serving hatch, a particular fit-out. If your requirement is unusual, it is probably a modification.

Tell us what the finished unit has to do and we will confirm what is achievable for your project before you commit to anything. We would rather scope it properly up front than promise a modification that does not suit the use.

We coordinate delivery to your site as part of the order. Delivery is quoted with the container rather than as a flat rate, because it depends on the destination, the access and how many units are moving.

Mainly access and ground. How a delivery vehicle reaches the drop point, whether there is room to offload, and what the container will stand on. Raising these early avoids a wasted delivery, so mention anything tight or awkward when you send your requirements.

Yes. Most of our customers are businesses, contractors, construction companies, industrial operators and site managers, but we are happy to quote for individuals buying a container for a practical or customised application.

From one upwards. Say how many you need in your request and we will quote accordingly — quantity affects both the container price and the delivery arrangement.

The sales team reads it, comes back with any questions needed to specify the container properly, and then sends a written quotation with the options worth considering. There is no obligation at that point.
